Once upon a time, there was a beautiful princess named Jewel. Jewel's father, the king, wanted Jewel to marry a rich prince. Jewel met many suitors. Each day, they would come out happy, but once they proposed and were rejected, they grew angry. You see, Jewel would pretend to love them, and reject them the next day. So when her father told her that she must marry some one that he chooses, she ran away. She ran and ran far into the forest. Her beautiful dress and accessories where ripped to shreds. Finally, she came to a house. She was so hungry, she went right in. When she entered the house, the table was filled with food. She was so hungry, she ate all she could! But then the owners of the house came home. In came three young men, who looked like thieves. Jewel hid, and was very scared. When the thieves found her, they asked her who she thought she was, coming into their house.
"Why, I am the princess" Jewel tried to say confidently.
The thieves laughed
"You sure don't look like a princess" The biggest said
"Yeah, you hair is all tangled and you dress is, well not so much like a dress anymore!" The second said. Jewel looked at the youngest one.
"What do you think, huh? Go ahead, insult me!"
"I think you are very beautiful. But you are a princess, who cares what I say right?" Jewel was shocked! She didn't think that she could still be pretty when her outfit was so ugly!
"You really think so?" Jewel asked. The boy nodded. She immediately fell in love with him. The thieves let her live with them if she would help them out. So jewel would set up snares and catch animals, and collect food. One day, the youngest thief asked for her to marry him.
"Oh yes, I'd like that very much! we can wed at my castle!" Jewel said. So the thieves went to the castle with Jewel. But when they got their, the thieves were seized and sent to jail. The king would not listen to Jewel when she said she wanted to marry the youngest one.
"Those are the most wanted thieves in my kingdom!" the king said
"But father, but youngest one and I love each other! The only real love I ever had!" Jewel cried for long, her father finally allowed her to marry him. The king spoke to the thief.
"What is your name?" said the king
"John" the youngest thief said.
"Well, John, my daughter wishes to marry you. Do you accept?" the king said.
"Yes, I accept with all my heart, sir." John said
And Jewel and John got married. His brothers became merchants and they all lived happily ever after! Then END!
"Why, I am the princess" Jewel tried to say confidently.
